I began using the material to draw. i wanted to look into transferring a texture onto a piece of paper. the material itself was difficult despite the touch of it being rough and harsh the skin itself was quite fragile therefore the process became difficult as it kept splitting in two and flaking away. This allowed to me to relate it to the human form and the fragility of bodies and in essence the fragility of life. The last image in the series reminded me of a virus the way in which some of the bold spots have connotations to a nucleus. Skin is the largest organ of the body and can easily be infected, it acts as a protective layer but also a gateway to disease and this is something i would like to build on in my work.
