I became inspired by Damien Hirsts pieces so began looking into how i can put “skin” on display. I began using the element of light to look into creating a transparent appearance whilst the pressed together perspect compressed the skin to make every scale visible similar to a microscopic approach. I began to use a roller over the perspex to really create a flat image. At this point in the project i felt that i had began to set a marker for where i wanted my work to go, the compression of the piece made me think about what as humans we are made up of. I started to research into the human body but what lays deeper than the eyes can see. Human cells replenish every seven years so in essence we are reborn from the inside yet the outside remains and this is something i tried to portray through the use of pressing and perspex.
